Memoir Writing
A memoir is an account of one’s personal life. Your task is to choose an event from your life and write about it; however, you must emulate Elie Wiesel’s writing style. Your memoir should provide the reader with a deeper sense of who you are and serve as a purpose. Your event doesn’t necessarily have to be a tragic event, like Wiesel’s, as long as it depicts a significant experience.
Requirements:
Length: 3-4 pages
Must emulate Wiesel’s style and must incorporate a minimum of 15 literary devices that mirror his own (repetition, diction, imagery, rhetorical questions, appeals, personification, imagery, metaphor, allusion, tone, hyperbole, foreshadow).
